I am so excited to be starting my fourth year for the outstanding teaching team at Cobblestone Elementary. This is also my seventh year in the district. I received my multiple-subject and special education credentials, along with my Masters in Education from Sac State after working in both the for-profit and non-profit arenas following my undergraduate education in Geography/Environmental Studies at UCLA. My wife, daughter and I have called this area home since 2001. I was born in California, raised in Nevada, and have lived in Oregon, Illinois, and Ontario, Canada. My personal interests include family time, travel, music, reading, movies, cooking/eating, crosswords and baseball.
I grew up the son of a teacher, so the classroom is like a second home. However, I feel that my time away from the school yard has filled me with a wealth of experience and perspective. I am excited to share all of this with the sixth graders at Cobblestone who are looking to become both great learners and leaders.
Together, with your continued support and guidance, we can ensure that each and every child reaches their fullest potential both this year and beyond.
Thank you again for your commitment and compassion. Here's to a great year to come!

Hello and welcome! I’m so excited to be joining the Cobblestone team this year. I’ve been teaching in some capacity most of my life, from coaching gymnastics and camp counseling to summer reading programs and instructional technology. I received my BA in Journalism from Chico State with a minor in theater, and spent a few years acting before getting my multiple subject teaching credential at CSU, San Marcos. I have taught all ages, from preschool and kindergarten to at-risk 19 and 20 year old high school seniors.
Want to know a secret though? Shh, don’t tell anyone. Ready? Sixth grade is my favorite. I love this transitional time—the changes and the excitement and the curriculum. Middle grade novels are some of the best books ever written. Ask anyone what book made the most impact on them and influenced the reader they became as an adult, and chances are it will be a book they read in grades five or six. My goal is to make every student a passionate lifelong reader and learner.
As for me, I live in the neighborhood with my husband, our kindergarten-age daughter, Capri, and our Morkie dog, Seger. I grew up in the area and am happy to settle here with my own family and become involved with the community. I enjoy reading, writing, traveling, theater (on stage or as an audience member), and spending time with friends and family.
I’m excited to get to know all of you, and I’m looking forward to a fantastic year! Please reach out if you ever have any questions. My door (and inbox) are always open.
